 PRESIDENT GABRIELLE

Message from your President - Gabrielle Gimblett:

School holidays are over, children back to school, and the wet weather appears.  Not long now until Labour Weekend when you can all relax.
It was a busy weekend for me.  The Volunteer Expo for Orakei was on at the netball courts in Stonefields.  St Johns Ellerslie featured a stall which gathered very good interest with the ERK's boxes.  Thank you to Muriel, John and Rashida for assisting.

Our meeting on Thursday morning will be bright and cheerful - please come along wearing something colorful and LOUD - just so we can all have some fun - there may also be a prize for the best dressed!!

Keep following our Bulletin to keep you up to date with future activities within the Club.

THURSDAY'S COMMITTEE MEETING

Thursday Breakfast at The Huddle

We had a great turnout on Thursday, with 15 members and more joining us for a relaxed and enjoyable breakfast at The Huddle.

Penny's grandson also came along to support us, and he was such a good boy….maybe a future member?

Willard – Christmas Puddings

Willard has 5,500 Christmas puddings to sell and is calling on all members to get behind the campaign. It’s time to sell, sell, sell! Please contact Willard with your orders and arrange delivery.

Peter B. – Apirana Avenue Reserve & Science Forum

Peter brought along a sample of the new nameplates that will be installed beside the plants at Apriana Avenue Reserve. They look very smart, and the Men’s Shed is involved in making them.

Peter also updated us on the Science Forum candidates and explained how they are selected. He proudly shared that he had donated plasma, telling us how easy the process was. And, of course, he enjoyed the chocolate biscuits at the end!

Ellerslie Primary School – Colour Fun Run

Ellerslie Primary School is holding its Colour Fun Run on Friday, 20 November, with games and a sausage sizzle. Helpers are needed, so please consider lending a hand and supporting our local school.

Help Wanted:

This Saturday morning (Oct 17)  St Johns Ellerslie members have been asked to assist with cooking breakfast for residents of the Salvation Army Epsom Lodge.
If you are free and able to assist, please advise Aubrey by return:  aubrey.nz@gmail.com   They only require 4 helpers - can you be one of them?
