Club Trivia Night For $10 Queenstown Challenge

Fresh from the outstanding success of the Ray White RCOSJ Golf Day, PP David Hartstone combined talents with Club members Frances Benge, Michelle Baillie and Emma Stuart to lure 200 punters to the Glen Taylor School Hall on Saturday 1 October for a bonanza night of fun, good food and some seriously challenging ‘Trivia’-- all in aid of our favourite charity, ‘Cure Kids’. DG Roger Harvey, a legend-in-the-making, travelled all the way from Gulf Harbour to be with us and add his considerable Trivia talents to his other obvious accomplishments. It was he who kicked off a ‘Match Me with $50’ which garnered a further $350 to the total. You’re most welcome anytime Roger. With Frances being the highly experienced CEO, now leading Cure Kids, motivation to bring off a memorable and lucrative event was at an all-time high. A rattling good evening followed with wild guessing, allegedly some dexterous googling under the table and heated contests between rival club tables. The target is a massive $20K to enter two teams. As we went to press, one team looked to be secure, but we will need to pull out all stops to get the second.Allan Smith and Peter Walsh both dug deep into their pockets to buy a signed Warriors’ football and a bottle of Johnny Walker with a most unlikely ‘history’. Thank you both. And to the unknown lady, on one of the highly-competitive Trivia teams, who bought one of the balls for $200 and promptly donated it back to earn more for the cause. The Mystery Lady would be a good acquisition for the Club, Allan.
